Crop Walk '99

It was never like this before. Rain. Rain. Rain. Either we were reliving Noah's 40 days of rain, or we were in Ireland. But the Temple crew, dressed smartly in our distinctive now recognizable Crop Walk t-shirts designed by Alan Garfield's 6th/7th grade class, walked and walked. Most walked (waded or swam would be more accurate) the full 3 miles. Some, there is a Yiddish term that fits quite well for them, waled another 3 miles. In any case, here are some pics. If you see yourself here and don't want to be here, email me and I will remove the offending picture ASAP. The kids didn't go home after Religious School. Instead, they headed for the social hall and pizza in anticipation of the Crop Walk. In total, we had 85 walkers with full (or almost full) pledge cards. The pictures say the rest...

Picture time at Temple.

Walking time. 2 hours of huffing and puffing to raise money for food for the poor.

3 miles in the rain. Better weather next year...

Seems like an appropriate greeting. Even in Iowa...
